А вот у Фасмера про "ПОЛОЗ" (выделено полужирным мной):
"полоз по́лоз "санный обод", "пресмыкающееся "Воа constrictor"" (Даль), мн. поло́зья, укр. по́лоз, блр. по́лоз, болг. плаз "nолоз, подошва плуга, доска в дне лодки", сербохорв. пла̑з, род. п. пла̑за "подошва плуга", словен. рlа̑z, род. п. plazȗ – то же, чеш. рlаz "пресмыкающееся; часть плуга", слвц. рlаz "пресмыкающееся", польск. рɫоz м., рɫоzа ж. "санный полоз". Возм., родственно англос. fеаlg "обод, борона"; с др. вокализмом – д.-в.-н. fëlga "обод, каток для разрыхления земли, борона"; см. Траутман, ВSW 218; Петерссон, ВSl Wortst. 74 и сл.; Видеман, ВВ 28, 21. Относительно знач. "полоз" ˜ "змея" см. Шрадер–Неринг 2, 322; Ильинский, ИОРЯС 23, 2, 193. Отсюда поло́зить, поло́жу "ползать", сербохорв. пла́зати се, пла̑за̑м се "скользить", словен. pláziti, plȃzim "ползать", чеш. plaziti "тащить, волочить", слвц. рlаzit᾽, польск. pɫozić się "ползти" и ползу́, ползти́, по́лзать."
Т.е. полоз не только признак плуга (ползет под землей?), но и полоз это просто часть плуга (плоская часть которая переворачивает пласт?).
Т.е. возможно плуг от полоза. А "Полоз" видимо исключительно славянское слово, а значит и плуг тоже. Аналогии плуга и полоза также у Мартынова В.В.
